Marsh views like these from Castaway Island Preserve make it easy to see why maintaining portions of Jacksonville's natural habitats is so important.  Castaway Island Preserve is one of JaxParks' regional preserves.  The park, located off of San Pablo Road, between Beach and Atlantic Boulevards, is expected to open to the public in April 2004.

Scenes like this, depicting nature at its finest, can be found throughout Jacksonville's preservation properties.  A collaboration between the National Park Service, Florida Park Service and City of Jacksonville has made it possible to designate more than 40,000 acres as preservation property to be preserved for future generations to enjoy.

This breathtaking photo of morning fog rising over the Camp Milton Historic Preserve reminds us of how important nature is to our quality of life.  Camp Milton is part of JaxParks' Jacksonville Forest Parks Corridor.  It is located off of Halsema Road on Jacksonville's Westside.  Construction projects are scheduled to begin in this preserve this year and continue throughout the next several years.

The beautiful Ribault clubhouse, located at Fort George Island, is named after famed French explorer Jean Ribault who landed near the property in 1562.  The clubhouse has recently been renovated and has several rooms available for private functions.  It is located on Fort George Island, off of S.R. A1A in northern Duval County.
