Nature Parks and Programs

Portion of the paved trail winding through natural area at Ringhaver ParkJaxParks offers a wide variety of parks, programs and activities that focus on elements of nature.   Visitors to parks like Tillie K. Fowler Regional Nature Park and Ortega Stream Valley @ Ringhaver Park may enjoy bountiful butterflies, a family of eagles and beautiful foliage, all native to Northeast Florida.

Individuals, families and groups interested in learning more about Jacksonville's more natural side can participate in a number of structured programs and activities lead by our park naturalists.  Programs may include insect scavenger hunts, discovery walks for children, and educational nature walks highlighting the unique features of our various parks, to name just a few.  For more information on nature programs and activities, check out our online version of NatureScope, a listing of current nature programs, or contact a Parks Naturalist at 573-2498 or 630-3577 for more information.
