Downtown Map - Shows government buildings & direction of street traffic.

Directions to the Property Appraisers Office from five different areas of the county are listed below.

From I-95 heading north, towards downtown Jacksonville, take exit #350A/Prudential Drive/Main Street (located a couple of  miles after the Emerson Street exit and immediately before the Fuller Warren Bridge). Go over the Main Street Bridge, take the Ocean Street exit as you leave the bridge (one-way street headed North). The street light at the bottom of the exit is for Bay Street. You will turn right at the second light onto Forsyth Street. (One-way street, headed east.) The first street light is Newnan Street, continue to the next block. The Yates Building, 231 E Forsyth St., will be on your left. It occupies the entire block. There is metered parking, on the street. There are also a small number of spaces under cover in the back of the building. (Adams Street, one-way, west) Identification is required to access the 2nd thru 4th floors. There are two public entrances on Forsyth Street. The ground level entry provides access to both the Tax Collector and Property Appraiser offices, while the stairway entry takes you directly to the Property Appraiser offices on the 2nd floor. (This is the fastest route to the Homestead Exemption office in Rm 260. It is open December through April only.)  There is also an entry on the Adams Street side through the parking lot to the 1st floor. (Deliveries, please use the loading dock at the east end of the building, off Market Street.)

 

 

From I-10 heading east, towards downtown Jacksonville, take the I-95 North exit toward Riverfront/Int'l Airport/Sports Complex, go 0.5 mile. Take exit #352B/Forsyth Street onto Forsyth Street (one-way street, headed east), go 1.5 miles. The Yates Building, 231 E Forsyth St., will be on your left. It occupies the entire block. There is metered parking on the street. There are also a small number of spaces under cover in the back of the building. (Adams Street, one-way, west) Identification is required to access the 2nd thru 4th floors. There are two public entrances on Forsyth Street. Turn right onto North Main Street (US-17, one-way street headed south), turn left onto East Forsyth Street (one-way street, headed east), continue for three blocks. The Yates Building, 231 E Forsyth St., will be on your left. It occupies the entire block. There is metered parking, on the street. There are also a small number of spaces under cover in the back of the building. (Adams St, one-way, West) Identification is required to access the 2nd thru 4th floors. There are two public entrances on Forsyth Street. The ground level entry provides access to both the Tax Collector and Property Appraiser offices, while the stairway entry takes you directly to the Property Appraiser Offices on the 2nd floor. From the Hart Bridge Expressway (FL-228 W) heading north, over the Hart Bridge towards downtown Jacksonville, keep in the leftmost lane crossing over the bridge. Continue bearing left to the Adams Street exit. The streetlight at the base of the Hart Expressway is for Liberty Street. Continue on same direction. The expressway is now Adams Street (one-way street, headed west). The next cross-street is Market Street. The back of the Yates Building is on your left, between Market Street and the next cross street, Newnan Street. To go to the front of the building,  turn left onto North Newnan Street (two-way street), then left onto East Forsyth Street (one-way street, headed east). The Yates Building, 231 E Forsyth St., will be on your left. It occupies the entire block. There is metered parking on the street. There are also a small number of spaces under cover in the back of the building. (Adams Street, one-way, west) Identification is required to access the 2nd thru 4th floors. From Arlington Expressway (US-90-Alt), over the Matthews Bridge heading west, towards downtown Jacksonville, keep in the leftmost lane after crossing over the bridge. The streetlight at the base of the Matthews Bridge Expressway is for Liberty Street. Continue on same direction. The expressway is now East State St (one-way street, headed West), go 0.2 mile. Turn left onto North Newnan Street (two-way street), go 0.4 mile. Turn left onto East Forsyth St (one-way street, headed east). The Yates Building, 231 E Forsyth St., will be on your left. It occupies the entire block. There is metered parking on the street. There are also a small number of spaces under cover in the back of the building.
