Donald Kirkland was elected by the Retired Members of the Fund to serve as the "Retiree" representative on the Pension Advisory Committee. He had previously served on the Committee as Chairman while an active employee on the Fire Department. Chief Kirkland earned an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science from Florida Community College at Jacksonville, and he was an Adjunct Professor in Fire Technology course work. He retired from the Department with 34 years of service.
