ACC BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS GIVEN TO LOCAL MILITARY
JEDC Sports & Entertainment Office, the ACC and Channel 4 distributed tickets at local USO

The JEDC Sports & Entertainment office, the city’s Veterans Affairs office and the ACC joined Channel 4’s reporter Melanie Lawson to distribute over 1,000 ACC Baseball Championship tickets to local military at the Greater Jacksonville Area USO in Atlantic Beach. These tickets will be used to help celebrate Military Appreciation Day at the ACC Baseball Championship Tournament on Sunday, May 25th at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Channel 4 is one of the proud sponsors of this day.
Military Appreciation Day is an opportunity to show the city’s support and gratitude to the local military. Events on this day will include static displays, a color guard, a flyover and an all-around patriotic day. Anyone with a military ID card can get discounted tickets for the baseball games on this day.
“We are pleased to provide these tickets to our local military for them to have a day to relax with their families and enjoy some great baseball,” said JEDC Sports Manager Michael Bouda. “We appreciate Channel 4 and the ACC partnering with us on this effort.”
In addition to Military Appreciation Day on May 25th, other specials taking place for the ACC Baseball Championship include on Wednesday, May 21st, any senior citizens can get a ticket for only $3.50 and the $15 business man’s special can get an attendee a ticket, hot dog and soda.
The ACC Baseball Championship will take place from May 21-25, 2008 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Arena Box Office (904-630-3900). During the tournament, tickets may be purchased at the Baseball Grounds ticket windows.
