SAFER is the City of Jacksonville's Automated Vehicle Location system.  With this system, city departments are better able to ensure the safety of its drivers, Jacksonville’s residents and facilitate increases in efficiency.

 

Our mission is to leverage this widely used technology to reduce the cost of operations, increase overall work done, and react to residents' needs more quickly and effectively.

 

Cities where similar systems have been implemented have seen increases in asset productivity, reductions in cost through better equipment utilization, improved response times and, most importantly, increased safety and service for residents and employees.  AVL is a proven tool for city and other government operations.
