Daytime Crisis Intervention Counselors

This is an unpaid volunteer position providing Victim Services support at University Medical Center-Trauma Center. Duties will include providing victims and their families with in-person crisis intervention, emotional support, and counseling. Will explain victims' rights and assist with Victim Compensation forms. Will make calls to the police on the victim's behalf, and make calls to provide victims with shelter and transportation. Training will be provided. Dress Code: casual.

* Dependability.
* Ability to write reports and make referrals.
* Caring and supportive.
* Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills.

This is an on-going assignment for one year or more. Volunteer(s) are needed for 3-4 hour shifts between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation.
