This is an unpaid volunteer position. Duties will include answering the telephone, taking messages and transferring calls to the appropriate person. Will also greet walk-in visitors in the staff receptionist's absence. Customers require courtesy, tact, and effectiveness. Work is normally performed in an office environment. Must learn the City of Jacksonville's telephone system. Dress Code: business casual.
Qualifications:
* Must be reliable.
* Friendly disposition.
* Ability to communicate effectively.
* Excellent telephone skills and telephone etiquette.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
* Customer service oriented.
This is an on-going assignment with hours to be filled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Community service participants are acceptable. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation.
